Leverage the capabilities of RSS
A big thank you to Loredana for inviting me to write on PRwave. Romania as a country holds special value in my heart for the variety of music that it has. As a build-up to my series of articles on Web2.0, today I would be talking about RSS and how individuals and enterprises can utilize it for best use.
What comes to your mind when you think of RSS? Just, another geeky term with an orange color button which you see on homepage of PRwave? Certainly not, the power of RSS and its underlying philosophy are some of the obvious reasons for you to re-focus your thoughts. Everyday on the internet you consume gigs of data in the form of websites, blogs, audio, video and you end-up adding many websites to your favorite folder. The problem with this approach is that it’s too messy and does not provide the real flexibility you want.
Helping you to come out of this mess is a popular RSS feed reader and aggregator i-Fetch. Free for personal use, i-Fetch is a killer application that handles information from various sources on the internet and provides a consolidated view to it. This means you don’t have to look for the information but instead the information comes to you through i-Fetch. You can also create multiple channels and channel groups of your interest areas. The enterprise benefits of i-Fetch can be realized by using it in conjunction with i-Map. i-Map creates local machine map in RSS compatible format. It gives you easy categorization options to view files by their types, authors, published date etc. To read more about rich features of i-Fetch & i-Map click here. Applications like i-Fetch offer users the true value proposition by enabling them to move with technology and extract its benefits.
