At first sight the words “great value wine“ sound like a high, unaffordable amount of money. Well, the truth is a bit different. In fact, there is no certain definition of a great value wine, and it certainly doesn’t imply breaking the bank for having the honor of tasting one.
According to wine critics and sommeliers worldwide, a value wine is the wine worth for its price – its quality is in accordance with the price tag.
The 100-Point Scale
There are many different wine-scoring scales in the world, each being created by the most popular wine critics, experts and wine publications. The most commonly used wine scoring scale is the 100-Point Scale which includes blind tasting finished wines and giving a single score for the wine. It should be noted that the scale starts from 50, and resembles the American school system grading.
