Honda Motor Europe today participated in the 2011 eSafety Challenge event in Vienna, Austria. Honda demonstrated a range of advanced car and motorcycle safety technologies to an audience of over 300 participants, including journalists and senior officials from European safety authorities.
Honda’s participation comes after the company became a full member of the organising association eSafety Aware, demonstrating Honda’s commitment to raising awareness and understanding of vehicle safety systems and technologies.
The eSafety Challenge is an annual event that promotes and highlights the life-saving potential of advanced vehicle safety technologies. During the event, participants had the opportunity to test for themselves the benefits of Honda’s Euro NCAP Advanced Award winning Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), as well as technologies such as Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA).
Helping to demonstrate the benefits of motorcycle electronically controlled Combined-ABS, Honda were joined by Moto GP rider Marco Simoncelli. Marco said "I am very pleased to join Honda at the eSafety Challenge today. Road safety is a critical issue for motorcyclists and advanced e safety technologies, such as Honda’s combined-ABS braking system, continue to help to keep riders stay safe and in full control of their vehicles".
