Ford dealerships account for more than one in three of those shortlisted for this year’s Motor Codes “Garage of the Year” title.
The Motor Codes scheme is approved by the Office of Fair Trading and is designed to help motorists find reliable and trustworthy garages. Franchised main dealers and independent garages compete in separate categories for the Garage of the Year title. Motorists’ votes are counted to establish regional finalists, which are then put before a judging panel to select an eventual winner.
Of the 50 franchise entries shortlisted, 18 are Ford dealerships from around the UK. Four of the five Yorkshire-based main dealers nominated are Polar Ford franchises, while GK Ford accounts for three of the five nominated Midland garages.
Ford was a founding member of Motor Codes in 2008, and within the first year more than 500 dealers had committed to the customer service standards outlined in the code of practice.
Chris Mason, Motor Codes managing director, said: “Through voting, motorists are effectively helping fellow car owners know where to turn for a good car servicing experience.”
Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain sales director, said: “Ford is committed to providing excellent customer service, and our position as a founding member of Motor Codes supports that. It is vital that our customers are satisfied with both their car buying experience and aftersales service, and we congratulate all those nominated.”
