With last night’s Awards Ceremony Golden Drum, the 17th International Advertising Festival and Media Meeting closed its doors. Over 1.000 participants from over 35 countries attended it and almost 2.000 entries (1.964) from 41 countries competed for awards. The Golden Rose award for the Agency of the year given by the president of Slovenia, Mr. Danilo Türk, PhD., went to the agency DDB&CO from Turkey.
Best agency network in New Europe is DDB. Best PR agency is Turkcell Iletisima (Turkey), best independent agency in New Europe and best agency in the Baltic region is Change Integrated (Poland) and best agency in the Adriatic region is Leo Burnett Beograd (Serbia).

A (TV) AWARDS
The jury decided that the GRAND PRIX in TV group was awarded to: “Škoda Superb” for Škoda Auto Poland by the agency Change Integrated, creative director was Jakub Korolczuk and Ryszard Sroka, copywriter Jan Majle, art director Andrzej Ratajczyk and project manager Piotr Niemczyński.
The only Golden Drum in TV went to the commercials: “Drama Queen”, for CFPE/Shots, agency TBWAPHS, Finland. There were 8 Silver Drums, to the agencies: Voskhod (Russia), Demner, Berlicek & Bergman (Austria), Saatchi & Saatchi (Romania), Shalmor Avnon Amichay / Y&R Interactive (Israel), Next Advertising (Romania), Futura DDB (Slovenia), Leo Burnett Athens (Greece) and Oglivy (Russia).
DARK NIKE – the award for the production house that obtains the highest score for entries in Group A (Film): FILM PRODUKCJA, POLAND.
B (PRESS) AWARDS
In the GROUP B – PRESS ADS the GRAND PRIX award went to the agency DDB & CO for the CNN titled “Camerman”, creative director Karpat Polat, copywriters Kerem Car, Gokhan Ozdemir, Orhan Gazi Kandemir and art director Koray Sahan.
The three Golden Drums were awarded to: “Deer”, for Audi Turkey Dogu Otomotiv, agency DDB&CO (Turkey); “Ticket – Hotwheels” for Mattel Toys Hungary, agency Ogilvy Group (Hungary) and “Battleship” for Google, agency Grey Istanbul (Turkey). Nine Silver Drums were also awarded.
C (PRESS) AWARDS
In the GROUP C – OUTDOOR ADS the jury decided that the GRAND PRIX goes to the series “Ahmedinejad&Putin, USD&Rayal, Oil&Weapon” for CNN, agency DDB&CO (Turkey), creative director Karpat Polat, art director Ali Bati, Guney Soykan, copywriter Gul Kanik.
The three Golden Drums went to the outdoor ad “Toaster” for Polmedica, agency McCann Erickson (Poland); “Ticket – Hotwheels” for Mattel Toys Hungary, agency Ogilvy Group (Hungary) and “Crashed Cars Bottle” for Or Yarok / Nur Media, agency Shalmor Avnon Amichay / Y&R Interactive (Israel). Six Silver Drums were also awarded.
D (RADIO) AWARDS
In the GROUP D – RADIO ADS the Grand Prix award was won by the agency Shalmor Avnon Amichay / Y&R Interactive (Israel) for “SDIA Project”, client Aids Task Force. Creative director Amit Gal, art director Shirley Bahar and copywriter Geva Kochba.
There were no Golden Drum and 4 Silver Drums.

Best ACT is unique advertisers’/clients’ jury award for a superior Idea that makes us change the way we think, feel and behave. The initial Best ACT selection was made by Golden Drum juries and included all shortlisted entries. The Best ACT jury judged them by another set of Best Act criteria.
Jurors were looking for ideas so powerful that they truly move people, thus making a qualitative difference in people’s lives. An ACT is not just an intelligent idea, but an inspiring one. The winner of Kodak selection of 10 most talented film students is a director and director of photography from National Film and Television School for the movie "The cloud chasers".
PIRAN AND PORTOROZ POSTER AWARD
The design and art direction jury also selected 26 finalists out of 243 entries in Off Drum Competition: Piran Portoroz Poster Award. The winners are Dima Tsapko and Anze Jereb from Kaffeine Communications, Kiev (Ukraine) for series “Drum, Seagull, Violin”. The second was Romania Erik Erdokozi for “Port of Spirits” and the third Bulgarian Miroslav Karemov for “Our Genius Loci”.
ARCHIVE STUDENT AWARD
Archive Magazine Student Award went to copywriter Oddbjorn Stensrud and art director Samuel Huber for a press ad for Wüsthof knives. The award was created in 2004 to provide students of advertising and communications design with a platform for their work.
