ASIMO travelled to Abu Dhabi this week to attend the city’s flagship science festival. The nine day family event, the first of its kind in the UAE, is aimed at inspiring the Emirate’s youth about science. The festival takes place over 9,000 square meters and is filled with over 150 workshops, interactive exhibits and fun science-themed experiences, including ASIMO.
ASIMO is appearing every day at the festival and will perform a total of 44 shows (both in English and Arabic) in a purpose built 380 seat theater. In addition to demonstrating its usual abilities, including giving and receiving objects, running and navigating stairs, ASIMO will show the children and young adults its capability to walk hand in hand with a person.
The festival is being held at the city’s national exhibition centre (ADNEC) and runs until the 26th November. It has been organised by the Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee under the patronage of HH General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
