The 22nd Golden Drum International Advertising Festival will start tomorrow, taking place from 13-16 October 2015 in Grand Hotel Bernardin in Portorož, Slovenia, offering four days of excellent program, over 40 top international speakers, great networking opportunities and wild parties. The highlight of the festival will be the Friday Grand Award Ceremony followed by the last festival act: Glamorous Friday to new day party!
Golden Drum Festival, visited each year in Portorož by over 800 experts in the field of marketing, advertising, creatives, designers, young talents and students will this year go under the theme “Transformation, liberation and creative culture”, while offering the biggest overview of creative advertising from the 37 countries of New Europe. AKQA, known for his creative use of technologies and extraordinary work for Nike and for the bestseller Velocity – and who will make the premiere presentation of his new book Limitless at this year’s Golden Drum, than there is Tomaš Sedlaček, controversial economist and the author of the book Economy of Good and Evil, Pau Brazier, legendary creative director from the London’s BBDO, Jason Romeyko, Global Chief Creative Director of the Saatchi & Saatchi agency and the author of the creative concept “Life is for sharing” at Deutsche Telekom, Colin Nagy, CEO of Barbarian Group, who will talk about native advertising, Nick Kendall, author of the bestseller “Brand of the 21st Century”, Bella Szabo, Strategy and Innovation Director, DDB and Breakfast panel “Speed date with the future” that is to be held with distinguished guests among which is the CEO of Atlantic Grupe, Mr Emil Tadeschi. The organizers also promise that this year’s participants can look forward to some extra surprises.
This year’s Golden Drum Competition has attracted 1208 entries from 25 countries, 255 agencies and 26 different agency networks, all competing for the grand prize: the Golden Net Award. Two “Heavy Metal Juries”, whose 22 members have together won over 120 Cannes Lions Awards, will be led by two authorities of creative industry, Chave D’Emilio, Creative Director, McCann Worldgroup Latin America and the Caribbean, President and Chief Creative Officer, McCann Buenos Aires, Argentina, ikon of South American advertising, and Geoffrey Hantson, Chief Creative Officer, Co-founder, Happiness, Belgium, that Business Insider named ‘one of the 25 most creative people in advertising’ (globally).
On Friday, 16 October, at the Golden Drum Grand Award Ceremony jury presidents will announce the winners in groups A-X. Golden Drum will also honour the Grand Winners of the Golden Drum 2015 Competition: winners of the Golden Rose Award, Tartini Award, Golden Net Award, Brand Grand Prix Award, Good Cause Grand Prix; and also recipients of the special awards: Golden Watch Award, Virtuoso Awards and Off Drum competition awards. Furthermore we will ceremonially welcome the new member of the Golden Drum New Europe Hall of Fame. After the Award ceremony the Golden Drum Closing Party will offer a special musical warm-up of cover band Mono followed by groovy DJ Ichisan, coming directly from the best of US dance clubs to move your feet and shake your soul.

The first Golden Drum festival was organized in 1994, beginning as a modest idea many considered bold and overreaching. In 2010, Golden Drum has honoured its most loyal and passionate contributors and supporters in the Golden Drum Hall of Fame for the first time. Since then new members are honoured yearly. In a joint venture with affiliated regional festivals from Asia-pacific (ADfest), Ibero-America (FIAP) and the Art Directors Club of Europe (ADC*E), a new global as well as anti-globalist advertising award – The Intercontinental Advertising Cup (The Cup) – was launched. All shortlisted entries in Golden Drum Competition gain an exclusive right to compete for The Cup awards.
